If you're unfortunate enough to be in New York City today, I think we can all agree that Most Depressing Day of the Year was celebrated one week too early this year. [Pic via NYPL] Update: NYC government agrees!
The NYC government's "Notify NYC" alert system is urging people in lower Manhattan to stay indoors, lest they be pummeled by flying debris. Yep, today sucks:
Alert 1 issued on 1/25/2010 at 11:37 AM. Emergency personnel recommend residents and workers at City Hall Park between Chambers Street, Gold Street, Ann Street, and Broadway stay inside because of the risk from falling debris.
Newer, scarier alert:
Alert 2 issued on 1/25/2010 at 12:15 PM. Shelter in place boundaries have expanded. People in the following area should stay indoors. North boundary is Chambers Street. East boundaries are Centre St and Gold St. South boundaries are Ann St and Vesey St. West boundary is Church St.
